Ultrasound Therapy

Our pain therapy system is a portable medical-grade ultrasound device to relieve pain and promote healing. Sound waves are pulsed at the area causing your pain at a million times per second.

These waves stimulate your joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and other tissues providing targeted pain relief without drugs or surgery.

The sound waves penetrate the skin and surface layers and cause the soft tissue to vibrate, producing gentle healing vibrations within the affected area that soothe inflammation and relieve pain.

Ultrasound waves also cause tissues to relax and increase blood flow to help reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation.

Increased blood flow also delivers more oxygen and nutrients to the tissue, removes cell waste and aids healing.

The following conditions (and others) may be treated at our clinic by ultrasound therapy…

  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Heel Spurs
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Sports Injury
  • Tendonitis

You should notice pain relief immediately after your session and it should continue to recede over a 2 week period. It may take multiple sessions to relieve your pain to your desired tolerance. After you’ve initially relieved your pain, you should continue to receive ultrasound therapy sessions often enough to ensure that your pain does not return. For some patients this can be as often as twice weekly or only once every month or two. Each patient has different results and pain tolerances for their treated condition.

Ultrasound should not be performed directly over replacement joints and Patients with pacemakers and other electronic implants should not use ultrasound therapy.
